The vineyards hug the hilltop of Janški Vrh in Haloze. This is an area of poorly consolidated sandstones, with strongly eroded and steep lower slopes; good viticultural sites are only found on hilltops. The area grows only white wines and was already famous for its produce in the Roman times.
